Energy Storage Equipment Alliance
Spending a majority of his career in energy storage, Nick has held international sales and business development roles for a handful of equipment suppliers to battery producers dating back to the 1990s. His specialty remains in formation, quality control and R&D testing across chemistries including lithium, zinc, sodium and lead-acid and redox flow technologies.
Nick has been with Kustan GmbH since 2020 in the role of Global Vice President, and also acts as President of Inbatec Americas, the US entity for the Group owning Kustan. He also is one of the organizers of the Energy Storage Equipment Manufacturing Alliance (ESEMA) as a global network of manufacturing and materials companies supplying the battery and energy storage space. Formed in 2023, ESEMA has the mission of supplying custom equipment and turnkey project execution primarily in Europe and the Americas to the battery and energy storage manufacturing community through cooperative engineering and manufacturing.
His core competence is to help businesses that specialize in engineered products to expand both vertically and horizontally. He uses a background in lean manufacturing, lean enterprise, 6S, team leadership and decades in battery and cell production to assist with company growth. This includes connectivity to a wide network of experts across the globe to augment the value to the client through partnerships and joint development.
Born and raised in Saint Louis, Nick attended the University of Missouri-Columbia and achieved a degree in electrical engineering. Later he attended the Olin School at Washington University St. Louis for his Executive MBA.
